At our IHM at Ellesmere College Football Academy, to highlight our motivated and talented coaching team we’d like to introduce you all to football coach Harvey Lewis.
Harvey started with the academy at Ellesmere this season and has been a welcome addition to the team bringing his enthusiasm for the game and being able to connect with the young international players on the programme.
A passionate footballer, Harvey started coaching at the age of 15, assisting his father with a local grassroots team. This is where his love for coaching began and his interest for developing a knowledge of the game and pursuing a career in coaching. Harvey completed his FA level 1 as soon as he was able and moved onto the level 2 by the time he was 18. He very quickly moved onto his UEFA B coaching license with the FA, and after a short delay, due to Covid, eventually achieved this in June 2023 becoming one of the youngest UEFA B qualified coaches in Shropshire.
In September 2023 Harvey joined the team at Ellesmere and is loving every minute. On his role at Ellesmere Harvey commented:
“Its great, I’m loving it. I love helping the young players develop and being able to work with them every day. It’s great development for me too, I get to work with great players and alongside other top coaches.”
Harvey is still playing and is keen to continue his playing career to get to the highest level possible, which is a great attribute to bring to the academy as a role model for the players. As a young player Harvey has played at some top sides and had a spell with the Manchester City Elite squad. He is now currently playing in the west Midlands premier league with Haughmond FC.
The enthusiasm that Harvey brings to every session demonstrates the passion he has for the game.
It’s great to have Harvey as part of the team and we look forward to the rest of the season with him guiding the young players.
