IHM Football Academy are excited to kick of the 7th season of the IHM Football Academy at Ellesmere College.

Monday 11th September saw the return of student players to school, with a record number of players enrolling for the 2023/2024 season.

Kicking off the week, lead coach, Brandon, and Head of Football at IHM, Sam, conducted a welcome presentation with all the players. This was just before everyone headed out to the pitch to see what the new players could bring to the squad.

The season ahead at Ellesmere will be an exciting opportunity to build on the success of 2022/2023. Last season we saw players progress to a higher level of football with their clubs, the team progressing well in the ESFA cup and some fantastic academic results. Other players graduating from Ellesmere were able to move to university in the UK and around the world.

Brandon and Sam, along with the whole coaching team at Ellesmere, have an exciting programme planned out, starting with some fitness sessions. These sessions will be supported by Darren, the Ellesmere fitness coach, and take place in the gym. The aim is to quickly allow the players to increase their playing fitness and be ready for the first games of the season. In fact, the start of the season will come around quickly with the under 19s league kicking off on Monday 18th September. The academy will play in 6 competitions throughout the season in the ISFA and the ESFA.

As the season moves forward, the IHM Football Academy student players at Ellesmere College will also receive various seminars which will highlight opportunities to take their game to the next level.

With the fantastic facilities on campus at Ellesmere College, the dedication and support of the experienced coaching staff and the exemplary academic options for the players, the school academy is the perfect environment for aspiring young players to grow and achieve success. We are very much looking forward to being part of the players journeys this coming season and welcoming them all to the academy.
