The final IHM Academy showcase event of the year took place last week.
Players from both the Manchester and Ellesmere site were joined by local players at the event.
50 players in total showcased their ability in front of invited scouts and club representatives.
In attendance were Manchester City, West Bromwich Albion, Wigan Athletic, Morecambe, Bury FC, a freelance scouts working with a number of clubs, a football agent looking for players to recommend to none league clubs and a professional sport performance analyst.
The day kicked off with an introduction to our top class coaches – Ex Chelsea star Frank Sinclair, ex Manchester city star Jon Macken , Head Coach at the Manchester academy Matt Lowe, Head Coach at Ellesmere Chris Morrell.
All the players were put through their paces in the morning sessions, showing their ability to be coached, to listen and their attitude to training. Following a short break it was onto match play. The game was a high standard with lots of ability on show, impressing the on looking scouts.
From our showcase days in the UK we’ve had several successful call backs to clubs over the past two years. The latest showcase event is no exception with players due to meet one of the scouts before the end of October to look at pathways into the professional game both here in the UK and overseas.
Our next showcase event will be during the Easter Break in April 2019.
