The Academy Team at our Ellesmere Boarding School programme had a great win this week to progress into the next round of the county cup.

In an Away fixture against Thomas Adams School then team gave an excellent performance that saw them progress into the next round of the County Cup.

On a difficult surface and a tight pitch, the players coped admirably, playing good high tempo football throughout. The opposition struggled to cope with the slick passing, good midfield rotation and strong back 4. The Ellesmere Fullbacks full backs Shah and Zou, caused problems all match with their work rate and desire to get up and down the pitch, Shah was rewarded with two goals, with Alex Sharpe, Sacha Connesson and an own goal adding to the tally to make it 5.

In the end the Ellesmere side came away with a well-deserved 5-1 victory and look forward to the next round of the cup.

Krishiv Shah came away with the man of the match for his work rate and bagging two goals.

Well done to all the players involved, a fantastic team performance, one to build confidence going forward.
