A massive congratulation to Archie Floate from our Ellesmere Academy who has signed for the Welsh side Airbus Broughton FC

Archie joined the Ellesmere academy in 2018 and has been a strong member of the group for the past 3 years. Joining as one of the youngest players, Archie has really grown and developed during his time with the academy. As one of the most dedicated young men we’ve had on the programme he was always destined for great things.

This season, after a great season in the academy, Archie saw an advert for trials with Airbus. Archie decided to contact them and attend the trials. After an initial trial session he was invited for a six week period to showcase what he can do. In this time he obviously impressed as he was recalled for a further two weeks with the full squad and played in an academy game against Shrewsbury Town. Following a fantastic trials session Archie was offered a place on the academy for the 2021-2022 season.

From next season Archie will train on a Monday & Tuesday with Airbus, representing them at weekends in the academy league. This will also mean he will continue to work with us at the Ellesmere academy, being a fantastic example to those up and coming players that hard work, commitment and a great attitude can really pay off.

Head Coach David said “I’m delighted for Archie, he really deserves it. He is one of the most hard working young players and really shown what he can do. He has really come on in every area over the past year, in a very difficult season. We are really proud. It will be great to have him around next season as a role model for others to see and aspire to”

Archie’s father, Tom, said “Working with IHM Ellesmere and closely with David Raven has given Archie the confidence and belief in his abilities.  David has worked with Archie on the mental side of the game and has helped him grow as a footballer technically and mentally.  He has been training at a high level with IHM which has definitely given him skills necessary to make the next step”

Watch out for Archie in the future in the football world, we will certainly be following his progress as someone we believe can go far. Well done Archie!
